Gerard Butler Named in Battery Investigation
Maybe Gerard Butler didn't have to dig that deep to play an aggressive Spartan after all.
A police report has been filed against the Scottish actor the night after the 300 star allegedly got into a physical altercation with a paparazzo.
"He was named as a suspect in a report taken for misdemeanor battery," Los Angeles Police Department Officer Julianne Sohn tells E! News, adding that the report was filed at the LAPD's Hollywood Division.
Butler has yet to comment on the incident, which took place around 2 a.m. Tuesday, following the premiere party for his new film, RocknRolla.
A New Kanye Encounter of the Paparazzi Kind
Kanye West mans up with a video dude who keeps asking the mercurial musician if he wants to apologize for his recent airport rumble with pushy paparazzi. In a word: No. A chilly Kanye tries to stay mum while gently pushing the video camera aside (in contrast to his recent airport skirmish) before addressing the lenser directly:
"I'm gonna ask you as a man to leave me alone."
Photo dude, that's your exit cue. Peace out.
Sienna Awarded Damages for Paparazzi Pursuit
Looks like some good finally came of Sienna Miller's relationship with Balthazar Getty. Relatively speaking, that is.
The Factory Girl thesp has accepted roughly $27,000 in damages and an apology from Britain's Daily Star tabloid after the tabloid published a photo taken of her in Los Angeles earlier this month in which she was clearly in distress and, as she claimed, being harassed by the paparazzi.
The photo in question was published Sept. 11. It shows the 26-year-old in the lobby of a Los Angeles building cornered by more than a dozen cameramen while waiting for an elevator.
Video footage of the scene showed Miller red-faced and near tears.
Keanu KOs Big Part of Paparazzo Suit
The Devil's Advocate has just courted himself a big victory.
A Los Angeles judge has thrown out the bulk of a lawsuit filed against Keanu Reeves by a paparazzo who says he was intentionally run over by the Porsche-driving A-lister.
Siding with a defense motion, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elizabeth A. Grimes ruled there was insufficient evidence showing Reeves meant to injure photographer Alison Silva while pulling out of a parking spot last year. (View the ruling.)
"There was no evidence of the slightest contact or the slightest touching," Grimes said at today's court hearing. "It didn't happen. Plainly Mr. Reeves intended to drive away. That intent is not unlawful."

Cops May Get Speared for Fake Jamie Lynn Fiasco
Looks like Britney isn't the only Spears who can make waves with Los Angeles cops.
While a spokesman for the Los Angeles International Airport Police said last week that heads would not roll after uniformed officers ushered a paparazzi-fooling fake Jamie Lynn Spears through the terminal, it now looks like, at the very least, some wrists may get slapped.
"It is not the policy or practice for Airport Police to provide a celebrity decoy," LAX spokesman Albert Rodriguez tells E! News. "Airport Police has opened an internal investigation of the incident and will take appropriate administrative action if warranted.
"Los Angeles World Airports policy prohibits special courtesies to be provided to celebrities, unless extenuating circumstances such threat of danger to the individual or the safety of the general public are involved."
Will Celeb Camera Spiking Be New Olympic Sport?
Move over Kanye West, you may not be the only camera-slamming celebrity on the loose.
Reportedly joining the ranks of the digi-cam dunksters is none other than new mom Nicole Richie, according to the intermittently accurate gossips at Page Six.
Here's what supposedly went down...
Kanye's in Hawaii, Hasn't Lei'd Down With Mac Yet
Kanye West is in Hawaii now, maybe working, maybe relaxing on some beach. Either way, he's got his trusty Mac with him—not to mention the same hoodie he was sporting yesterday—and he seems to be gearing up to write the blog post to end all blog posts.
But since we haven't heard from him yet, we can still only speculate as to what prompted his showdown with the paparazzi Thursday morning at Los Angeles International Airport.
The cops, for one, sure don’t know.
"I have no idea," Sgt. Jim Holcomb of the L.A. Police Department's Airport Division told E! News Friday when asked what provoked the incident. "I didn’t know who he [Kanye] was until the day this happened."

Jamie Lynn Spears Body Doubles Her Pleasure?
Are paparazzi off their game. All signs point to yes after the airport-based shooters got snookered by a faux Jamie Lynn Spears.
An incident that transpired at Los Angeles International Airport this week—a Kanye West-less incident—is currently under review by the Los Angeles Police Department after a group of officers appeared to buck department policy and give the younger Spears an escort from her paparazzi-flanked terminal.
The problem: It wasn't actually Spears, simply a look-alike. And, based on photographic evidence, not an entirely convincing one at that.
Plus, police say, they weren't trying to fake out the photogs.

Eyewitness: Kanye Arrest "Pure Chaos"
More details are emerging from this morning's arrest of Kanye West following a confrontation with cameramen at Los Angeles International Airport.
Tim Mihalsky was at LAX this morning picking up his dad from the airport when he witnessed a scuffle outside the American Airlines security check-in at Terminal 4.
West was in the middle of the madness, which was captured on tape by TMZ.
"I heard all this noise and yelling and I was like, 'What's going on?' Security and cops were running over to this fight. The commotion was going on for a couple minutes. I heard something slam on the floor and it was kind of crazy," Mihalsky tells E! News.

Kanye Busted for Airport Bust-Up
Kanye West apparently didn't like playing candid camera. Now he's in police custody for punking some paparazzi.
Police confirm that the rapper was arrested this morning at Los Angeles International Airport following an altercation with photographers.
The shutterbugged West, 31, faced off with several cameramen in the American Airlines terminal at 7:51 a.m. while en route to boarding a flight to Honolulu. He allegedly smashed an offending video camera, valued at $10,000, and wound up getting arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, says airport spokesman Marshall Lowe.
West's road manager, Don Crowley, was also collared for felony vandalism. While police were originally informed that a potential battery had also taken place, an initial investigation determined that no battery occurred.
An eyewitness describes to the scene to E! News: "Some time before 8, Kanye and a big posse arrived at the terminal. He got out and a bunch of paparazzi were swirling around him...
Keanu Shutterbug Goes Through Looking Glass
More jibber-jabber(wocky) from the paparazzo suing Keanu Reeves.
In response to the actor's motion to dismiss a negligence lawsuit against him, brought by a shutterbug who claims he was dinged by Reeves's Porsche while angling for a pic, the plaintiff's camp invoked Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in explaining why the suit should live on.
"Even in Wonderland, the jury would need to hear from the witnesses before making a conclusion on such a question of fact," wrote attorney Joseph Farzam, who's representing photog Alison Silva, in court documents filed Monday.
Considering even the Knave of Hearts was granted a trial when he was accused of stealing tarts in Carroll's fantastical world, "Accordingly, [Silva] requests that the court decline [Reeves'] invitation to dive into the looking glass by granting [dismissal]."
Surfers Charged in McConaughey Pap Fight
The surfers who thought they were lending Matthew McConaughey a hand have been slapped on the wrist.
Two men who allegedly roughed up a photographer who was angling for shots of the actor hanging ten on a Malibu beach were charged Tuesday with misdemeanor battery and are due to be arraigned in October.
